February 23, 2015- in La Plata heading to Quilmes

“Hermano Ruiz.
He was gonna give it to be but I couldn’t accept it. Every Yankee that goes there just loves it. So he gave me a little globe that I just love cause it’s so wrong. the US and Russian are conncected and there’s no Australia.”

“this is the familia Correa. they’ve progressed so rapidly, I’m  gonna miss them.”

So I just got to my second area. I’m really kinda sad to leave el Carmen. Me and Vargas were really clicking and the work was moving really well there. I’m sad I’m not going to see a lot of the baptisms that they’re going to have. We have had a lot of really good progression and I’m gonna miss a lot of people there. I’ve got a lot of things I want to remember from el Carmen and a lot of people that I’m gonna miss.
My new area is Quilmes, it’s really close to the beer factory and it’s huge. We have 3 train stations in our area. It’s a completely different beast then el Carmen. It’s a lot more richer. (we have a Wal-Mart, that’s how rich it is)  People call it the celestial kingdom. It’s huge, did I say that, big cities and trains are new for me. Vargas was here for a while and from what I’ve heard, I’m going to eat really good walk a lot and get rejected a lot. We’re gonna see how it goes. It’s a really big change for me. I have never lived in a city like this. It’s gonna be kinda weird. Also our pension is huge. It’s a different place but I’m really excited to start getting to work here.
My new comp is from California. Spanish learning is easier with Latinos, but we'll see how this goes. He’s been in the mission just a little bit longer than I have. It’s  He’s cool, played football and everything. I’m just hoping we can get some chemistry teaching together really quick.
I got the package- thanks for all the stuff, I’m pretty pumped for it. Gatorade packets make my day thank you!
I’m still a little mixed up right now, it was a long time in trains and I’m kinda sick from all the ice cream and cookies the people of el Carmen gave me yesterday. Let me know if you have questions I have a little more time left.

Are most of the elders in your mission native of South America?
It’s like half and half with missionaries
Do the Argentines celebrate valentine’s day?
I have no idea what day is valentine’s day?
How far away are the furthest missionaries from the mission home?
La costa its way south like a day’s travel in a bus

“Hermana Cabrea's from Peru. she made this for you, mom. it’s to put over a blender. It’s kinda cool looking. They’re the family i spent New Years with.
the familia Cabrea”

February 18, 2015- in La Plata with Elder Vargas

Bueno, so this last week and a half have been pretty good. We’ve had interviews and stuff and a lot of good things have been going on in our area. First we've been doing a lot of service at a members house and it's great because her house like doubles as a school thing so we end up contacting and meeting a lot of people there. We've been building a wall, painting gates and shoveling sand every Saturday for a while. And then we go teach the people we meet there. We taught the guy who was building the wall a lot. His name is Cristobol and he is divorced with two kids, he seems pretty interested and came to church once. The same thing with the other people we taught there. The Famlia Correa is progressing well. I am sad I won't be around for their baptism, but that's okay. It's fun to teach them because you will teach something like the word of wisdom and they'll except it really fast, then afterwards we just answer questions. We usually end up our lessons answering questions about the book of Revelations. It's fun getting questions like "can you guys like take demons out of people and stuff? " They're great and are really focus on getting baptized and learning the stuff. Other than that we've been doing a lot of contacting and finding new people, which I enjoy. Also we had another capilla abierto in our zone. This is my third one in six months which is kind of crazy. I can pretty much organize one on my own now. I'll send the pictures. Other fun things we did with our district - we watched “Meta goi” It's an Argentine film animated, it's weird. But interesting. Me and Vargas cooked a bunch of chicken and rice for it. We had so much leftover I've been eating it for breakfast and dinner for a week. I also made snickerdoodles for our last district meeting. They came out really good, the Latinos really like them. love you guys. I'll be writing from somewhere else this next week. Be smart. Don't eat too many pancakes, it's not healthy.

Quick update on investigators:
Familia C...... are gonna get baptized but I won’t be around for it cause I’m getting transferred.
M......., her boyfriend was there one day when we passed and he sorta wanted to fight us. It was kinda funny, he was like 5’ 8” and 160 pounds. Drinking is bad if you guys were wondering. She likes our message, but we probably won’t be able to pass by for a while.
L...... is young, so we have to reactivate his parents first.
D...... is good reading the Book of Mormon and everything. She needs to come to church though and see it all.
C....... is on vacation right now, but she asked us for a location of one of the chapels there, so hopefully we can find one for her.

Sorry I don’t have more time love you guys be smart. Don’t use pickaxes. I’m starting to get Andrews sleep walking problems. I woke up the other night because there were spiders in my bed. I ended up sleeping on the floor for half the night. By the way there are spiders everywhere here. I probably kill a spider every day.
